The Spirit of God

The Spirit of God is one of the names of the Holy Spirit. It is associated with guidance, prophecy and power.

It is also the first mentioned name of the Holy Spirit in the Bible (Genesis 1:2). It is the power of the Holy Spirit that created the universe, the earth, and us.

Can you imagine how mighty the Holy Spirit is? He created the entire universe, all the stars and galaxies from nothing!

Sometimes you are in a situation where you think that it is hopeless, or a thought, dream or vision that seems impossible. Don't lose hope! If God can create the universe from nothing, He is able to help you.

In the Book of Matthew, Jesus healed a demon possessed man who was blind and deaf. The Pharisees then accused Jesus of using Satan's power to work these miracles. Jesus, who knew their thoughts, answered that He "cast out devils by the Spirit of God" (Matthew 12:28).

In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit entered Saul, who later became king, "then the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them. (1 Samuel 10:10).

The Holy Spirit also came upon Zechariah, who empowered him to proclaim the Word of God, to rebuke the people of Isreal of their sins. (2 Chronicles 24:20).

In the Book of Ezekiel, the Holy Spirit took Ezekiel up and gave him a vision of the restoration of Isreal, "Then the Spirit took me up and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea to those in captivity."

The Spirit of God Lives In You

Holy Spirit, is the Spirit of guidance. He is the Spirit of prophecy. He is also the Spirit of power.

Can you just meditate on the fact that the Holy Spirit is living inside you. The same Holy Spirit who created the universe billions of years ago. The same Holy Spirit who causes prophets to prophecy. The Holy Spirit who heals. The Holy Spirit who casts out demons. And the same Holy Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead.

One day, it will also be the Holy Spirit who will raise you from the dead, take you to heaven, and spend an eternity with our Lord Jesus. Isn't that wonderful?

The power of all creation is inside you right now. Aren't you the least excited? He is living in your body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit. "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16). Amen to that!
